Early and Mid-Term Outcomes of Primary Repair After Atrioventricular Canal Defect: A Single-Center Eight-Year Experience

چکیده
Background/aim: Surgical repair techniques and management of patients with atrioventricular septal defect (AVSD) have progressed over the last few decades. Early definitive interventions become choice treatment for these patients. Based on this background, we aimed to review early mid-term outcomes primary AVSD repair. Methods: A total 53 a mean age 3.45 ± 5.67 years underwent between January 2014 June 2021. The clinical data including age, type defect, associated co-anomalies, symptoms, pulmonary hypertension, etc. were collected assessed retrospectively. Mitral regurgitation (MR) as outcome was at 0, 1, 2, 5 years. Results: Among recruited patients, 35 (66.1%) male 18 (33.9%) female. Of complete done in 38 (71.69%) intermediate/partial 15 (23.1%) one patient incomplete type. Other co-anomalies anterior mitral leaflet (12 (22.6%)), atrial ventricular (VSD) (30 (56.6%)), patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) (11 (20.8%)). Different procedures surgical included patch closure, cleft repair, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) VSD closure. After follow-up period 46.73 27.37 months. Overall mortality 3.78% (2/53), two reintervention due symptomatic severe MR. Conclusions: timely correction shows satisfactory results.

Repair of partial atrioventricular septal defect: a 37-year experience.
OBJECTIVES Partial atrioventricular septal defect (pAVSD) is routinely repaired with a low mortality. However, limited data are available on the long-term follow-up of these patients. The current study was designed to determine long-term survival and morbidity of a large cohort of patients operated on at a single institution. METHODS From 1975 to 2012, 249 consecutive patients underwent pAVSD...
متن کاملClinical outcomes of pulmonary valve replacement surgery in pediatrics: a single-center experience long-term study
Introduction: Heart valve disease in pediatricsis an increasing global concern, especially in developing countries. This study aims to determine the clinical outcomes of pulmonary valve replacement (PVR) surgery in pediatrics. Methods: The authors retrospectively identified all pediatrics undergoing PVR surgery at Imam Reza hospital (Mashhad, Iran) between 2000 and 2020. Their medical records...
متن کاملEarly- and mid-term outcomes after transcatheter aortic valve implantation. Data from a single-center registry
INTRODUCTION Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) is a less invasive treatment option for elderly, high-risk patients with symptomatic severe aortic stenosis (AS) than aortic valve replacement. More importantly, TAVI improves survival and quality of life as compared to medical treatment in inoperable patients. AIM To assess early- and mid-term clinical outcomes after TAVI. MATERIA...
متن کاملShort Term Outcome of Antenatal Hydronephrosis: A Single Center Experience
Background Fetal hydronephrosis is a common urinary tract anomaly that may result in renal parenchyma damage. Ultrasound is considered a simple, noninvasive procedure to diagnose and track antenatal hydronephrosis. Our aim was to study the clinical course of fetal hydronephrosis in fetuses. متن کاملShort-term clinical outcomes and mortality of coronary endarterectomy in the right coronary artery: A single-center experience
Introduction: Coronary endarterectomy is not a perfect procedure. However, it is sometimes the only available alternative for cardiac surgeons in patients suffering from diffuse coronary artery disease. According to a large volume of studies, coronary endarterectomy results (such as survival, recurrence of the symptoms of myocardial ischemia, and graft patency) are not as satisfactory as standa...
